Dear #ATitle #ASurname

Subject: Introduction of #Name, Member No: #MemNo

#Grade of The Institution of Analysts and Programmers

I understand that one of our members, #Name, is applying for a placement with your organisation. #Forename has suggested that I should write to make you aware of the Institution and of its role in promoting the professional skills and standards of its members.

The Institution is the leading International organisation for professional Analysts and Programmers. Our members are based mainly in the UK, but there are IAP members in over 35 countries. We may not be the largest organisation for computer people in Britain, but our members represent the brains of the business. Only those with proven hands-on technical ability, backed by all-round professional skills and a willingness to abide by a strict professional code, are admitted to full membership of the IAP. Membership of the Institution is a professional qualification in its own right. Members are identified by the letters AMIAP (Associate Member), MIAP (Member), or FIAP (Fellow: the most senior grade)

Our primary role is ‘Improving Software for Society’ and to that end we work with Universities, Businesses and various Government agencies to promote high standards in software development at the developer, management and businesses levels. There is more information on our website at www.iap.org.uk

I hope you will find this information of interest. I should be delighted to send information regarding membership to any of your staff who might consider joining the Institution of Analysts and Programmers.

Yours sincerely,

#Signature
